I’m currently researching and writing A More Beautiful Question: An Inquiry into the Value of Inquiry, to be published by Bloomsbury next year. The book is a study of the power of questioning to bring about change. Presented as a collection of “beautiful questions” accompanied by the surprising stories of transformation that sprang from those questions, the book shows that remarkable things can transpire when someone has the imagination and the willingness to ask, “What if…?”
In A More Beautiful Question, we meet dozens of “master-questioners”—including renowned innovators, business leaders, creative thinkers, but also ordinary people from all walks of life—who have used the power of inquiry to change the world in some way. Interwoven throughout the stories are insights and lessons on how to become a better questioner, how to find precisely the right question to address a formidable challenge or tap into a new opportunity, and how to tackle that question in a systematic manner that can actually help guide you to an answer.
The book’s point: Inside all of us, there are beautiful questions waiting to be asked. And those questions can help us unlock fresh new possibilities in business and in life.
